A school is a busy place and many students often have after-school commitments with their families. I try to offer opportunities for home practice to inform you and to let your child show off his or her skills. Please do not hesitate to contact me about any issues or concerns you may have.
Schedule:
Math: I will typically send home a game or "thinking" activity that allows practice and problem-solving challenges. There will also be online opportunities with login information to come!
Reading: 80-100 minutes a week or more!
Reading, even just ten minutes a day at home can have an enormous impact on ANY human being.
Make it a priority and it will be one!
Writing: I will be encouraging your child to find opportunities to write at home. Keeping a notebook or journal can have a lasting impact on a child's overall well-being.

Spelling: Most spelling work will occur within the classroom during writing workshop instruction. I will occasionally send home words and activities. Spelling tests will be infrequent as we monitor and work to improve our spelling within our writing.
Social Studies/Science: Occasional
