Ending a Great Week!

Give your child a pat on the back. I saw a lot of mature and serious students this week who worked hard and were very respectful to their peers. Students were quiet and really seemed to do their best work. It's difficult to know how the students did but if I could give them a grade on behavior this week it would be A+++!

You will be receiving an email from the school on Monday to view your child's mid-trimester progress report. Keep an eye out for this information. Here is the link for Skyward access(click here) once Monday rolls around.

Kidblog Update:

I realized this week that I did not have "commenting" open to the public. I recently adjusted the settings. All comments still await my approval but if you would like to comment on your child's blog you are now able to do so. Please let me know if you have any questions.   hubbarb@olivetschools.org

Pencil Sale

The third graders will be holding a small fundraiser the week of May 15th. I could use a parent helper on May 15th and May 19th from around 8:10-8:40 to help a small group of students sell pencils/erasers.

UPCOMING FIELD TRIPS!

On June 1st the class will be heading out to Old Indian Creek Farm for a demonstration and activity day with Sheepshank Sam! This has been a ten year tradition in third grade and students always look forward to lumberjack day! If you would like to volunteer as a chaperone please let me know. More information, including departure/return times, will be coming soon.

On May 24th the class is going to the symphony in Lansing to listen and participate with the musicians. This will only be a half day trip. Students will return in time for lunch back at FPE. We do not need chaperones for this trip.

Other News...

The students worked on a small poetry project this week when we had some downtime between testing sessions. They did a great job! Come check out our display near our classroom.

Last week we talked about setting up and designing a special writing spot for the summer. I encouraged students to try and create a special space. If your child does this over the weekend, take his/her picture in the spot and send it to me!
